For 2023, were going to continue to work hard on getting you fresh ideas...
Ideas around increasing revenue, construction workplaces, and offer ways to improve your business from an operation, sales, and marketing capacity.
For this post, as it’s become a common theme, we’re going to discuss strategies on Increasing Revenue in Your Construction Business in the New Year. We understand that there’s a lot of advice on the topic, as there are enough blowhards online that clog up the airways. So before I list a few thoughts on the matter, consider focusing on just one idea perhaps. These suggestions are time tested and do work, however, you need to apply some measure of daily activity around these strategies.
1. Spend more time this year developing and improving your relationships with your subs, clients, and partners. This can be an easy exercise, as you can simply pick up the phone and say hi to some of these folks. Nowadays, I know we are busy and constantly being steered in varying directions. However, this is perhaps the most valuable activity in any business. I’ve notice within my interactions with different contractors, the ones who are thriving the most, are the ones most engaged with their contacts and business communities.
2. I’ve preached this before, but I will say it again… Promote and share your business on social media! 9 out of 10 contractors that I speak to, do very little of this. And the construction industry is one that looks great on social media sites. You can do before and after photos of a project, or perhaps take pictures of your workforce on the jobs site. The list goes on and on of the cool things you can portray your company doing. There are a lot of buyers of construction services online looking for good contracting companies. By sharing more of your work on social media, more eyes will see your company’s value. It is also free too!
3. Consider becoming a specialist in a particular asset class, such as healthcare or retail buildings. Start calling on building management teams who oversee these types of properties and let them know about your experience. This is not to say to turn work down that doesn’t fit this narrative. However, if you can differentiate yourself with a couple of property types, you’ll shortly notice that project owners love vendors who have a specialization.

In conclusion, we’ll keep sharing more of our thoughts and others on building your construction business’s revenue soon. Until then, try to work on being consistent whether it may be re-connecting with your network, or posting on social media. Seeing success in any type of sales and marketing effort will take time, but if you keep at it, before long you’ll start seeing some serious traction.
